Factory floors carry daily loads and wear from forklifts, trolleys, rack feet and foot traffic, and are often exposed to oil and light chemicals from production. Factory solutions therefore prioritise wear resistance, surfaces that are easy to clean with industrial scrubber machines, and phased installation that limits full shutdown of factory operations.

Factory-specific needs

  • Wear resistance against forklifts and trolleys at the actual operating intensity of the plant.
  • Resistance to oil and light chemicals commonly found in production.
  • Zone marking, walkways and safety zones using the same coating system.
  • Phased installation is possible, reducing production downtime.

Suitable coating systems

  • RollCoat — 3-coat roller system: the most standard configuration for factory floors — one penetrating primer coat and two topcoats, balancing cost, installation speed and wear resistance at medium loads.
  • LevelFlow — Self-leveling: for areas that need a high level of flatness, 1–3 mm thickness selected according to load, with higher load-bearing and wear resistance than the roller system on the same substrate conditions.
  • StatGuard — Anti-static: for electronics assembly areas or areas storing solvents and flammable chemicals inside the factory, where static control is required — acceptance includes on-site resistance measurement together with the project owner.

General process

  1. Site survey: area, concrete substrate condition, environmental conditions, expected traffic type and the time available for handover of the work area.
  2. Concrete substrate preparation: floor grinding, crack repair, moisture measurement — a mandatory step before coating, never shortened to meet a schedule.
  3. Primer application: improves adhesion and seals pores on the substrate surface, at the mixing ratio specified by the manufacturer.
  4. Topcoat application: intermediate coat and finishing topcoat according to the configuration of the selected system.
  5. Curing and acceptance: wait until the coating reaches the condition stated in the instructions, then inspect and hand over.

Substrate conditions before installation

  • Concrete at least 28 days old, grade above 200.
  • Floor moisture content below 6–8%.
  • Ambient temperature 10–35°C and air humidity below 75–85% during installation.

Acceptance criteria

  • Seamless surface, no peeling, bubbling or exposed substrate voids.
  • Coating thickness matching the configuration of the selected system.
  • Uniform colour; markings (if any) in the agreed positions.
  • Handover cleaning and maintenance and cleaning guidance for the floor after installation.
