Logistics warehouse floors carry continuous forklift traffic on fixed aisles, and need clear zoning between aisles, storage areas and safety zones. The core requirements are a surface that resists wear along wheel tracks, retains little dust so goods and equipment are not contaminated, and markings that last over the service life.
Logistics warehouse-specific needs
- Wear resistance concentrated on forklift and trolley aisles.
- Clear zoning: aisles, storage areas, safety zones.
- Seamless surfaces, dust-resistant, easy to clean with industrial scrubber machines.
- Phased installation is possible, avoiding a full shutdown of warehouse operations.
Suitable coating systems
- RollCoat — 3-coat roller system: the standard system for warehouse floors — one penetrating primer coat and two topcoats, with zone marking using the same coating system.
- LevelFlow — Self-leveling: for areas that need high flatness and a seamless mirror-finish surface, 1–3 mm thickness selected according to load.
General process
- Site survey: area, concrete substrate condition, environmental conditions, expected traffic type and the time available for handover of the work area.
- Concrete substrate preparation: floor grinding, crack repair, moisture measurement — a mandatory step before coating, never shortened to meet a schedule.
- Primer application: improves adhesion and seals pores on the substrate surface, at the mixing ratio specified by the manufacturer.
- Topcoat application: intermediate coat and finishing topcoat according to the configuration of the selected system.
- Curing and acceptance: wait until the coating reaches the condition stated in the instructions, then inspect and hand over.
Substrate conditions before installation
- Concrete at least 28 days old, grade above 200.
- Floor moisture content below 6–8%.
- Ambient temperature 10–35°C and air humidity below 75–85% during installation.
Acceptance criteria
- Seamless surface, no peeling, bubbling or exposed substrate voids.
- Coating thickness matching the configuration of the selected system.
- Uniform colour; markings (if any) in the agreed positions.
- Handover cleaning and maintenance and cleaning guidance for the floor after installation.
